buntzen lake

living in a rain forest has a few downsides. they mostly involve endless dark days filled with tons of falling rain.

a much younger version of myself spent a while studying photography. i worked at a photography shop for 9 years and, although i by NO MEANS consider myself a gifted photo taker (it really does take something special- something jeff has and i am able to sometimes fake a little bit,) the one thing that stuck with me all these years is that overcast skies make for the the perfect photo taking backdrop.

so, all those dark days of clouds and fog do have an upside- a blog filled with technically flawed but perfectly beautiful photographs. memories of our simple adventures exploring our never ending backyard.
